I recently made a card for one of my demonstrators who is celebrating her 10th Stampin Up Anniversary. 10 years ago at Stampin Up's Leadership conference, they gave us all a free starter kit to give to one person who we thought would like to start a business. I chose Sue, a longtime customer. I have always been curious how many of those who were given a free kit are still a demonstrator 10 years later. Sue has done a great job running her business and it has been fun to watch it grow!
I made this card for her using items from the Art Gallery Suite, Tasteful Labels Dies and our pearl jewels.
Isn't this designer series paper beautiful! I love every piece in this pack.
I made a video to show how I put on the pearls. The Take Your Pick tool really helps pick up the pearls and to place them just where you want them.
The Card Base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2"
Merry Merlot 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
Designer Series Paper 5 1/4 X 4
You could use this same layout and replace the number with a greeting.
I love love love our Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper that comes free with the Berry Blessings Stamp set right now with a $100 order. Every sheet is so pretty! I love the blueberry image so I designed this card.
I used my favorite dies, Tasteful Labels dies. They come in handy for so many cards!
In the video below I show you all the sheets of designer series paper that comes in this pack along with how to color your pearls.
As a demonstrator we get to pre order new items from the next catalog early. It is an awesome perk! Many Messages intrigued me as it was one jumbo stamp with many greetings and then one jumbo die that cut all the greetings out.
I decided to give it a try so I could honestly tell others if it is worth getting or not. I made this video to show you easy it is to put greetings on many cards. Check out the video to see the actual stamp and the large die.
I used Stampin' Ups Peony Garden Designer Series Paper to make the following quick cards.
Here are the cards I made.
You can begin ordering the Many Messages on January 4th.
For this quarter I am using the Painted Poppy Suite for my Stamps In The Mail club. If you have not checked this suite out, you should. It is amazing! At first I didn't think I needed it all, but I ended up getting it all and absolutely love it!
For this card, I used both stamp sets and both sets of dies. I started with the group of flowers die from the Poppy Moment Dies. I really like how it looks with colored card stock behind it. I then stamped the flowers on scrap pieces of Whisper White and die cut those using the Painted Labels Dies. The label dies included in this set are perfect for so many different greetings. You could use this card for many different occasions.
When using blends, keep going over them until you like the how the colors come out. Each flower will be a little different, which I like!
Rhinestone Basic Jewels, are such a great quick embellishment you can add to so many projects! I added 3 to this card.
Below are the products I used to make this card. If you click o them it will take you to my website where you can shop online.
I started using Lilypad Lake just recently and really love all the cards that you can make with it! I wanted to make a masculine card that used our Sail Away Trinkets. This is what I came up with.
I first put the designer series paper on the card, then taped the ribbon where the two pieces meet. I punched a crumb cake piece and a Night of Navy piece using the Everyday Label punch. To make the Crumb cake look like it is layered, I cut it in half, and taped it so it sticks out a little on the top and bottom.
Here is a video on how to make the card and tie on the trinket wheel.
I just assembled my Lilypad Lake and decided it would make a great anniversary card. Today my husband and I are celebrating 24 years of marriage! I love our Pretty Peacock 1/2" Scalloped Ribbon, so I decided to start with that for color inspiration.
When I stamped the 2 birds I noticed by having the one higher than the other that the water would cover the lily pads if I stamped the water where I wanted it to reach on the birds. I decided to mask them. The easiest way to do this is to stamp the lily pads on a post it at the top where it is sticky. I cut by hand out the lily pads, cutting into the bottom a little so it stamps just right over it. Simply place your cut out piece on top of the image, and stamp over it.
The ink will not go where you have the post it piece. Isn't that slick?
I keep the cut out post it note in my case so it is ready to go the next tie I want to make a card.
I used my Stampin Blends to color in the card. To make the flowers a little lighter, I used the color lifter. Tip: Use lightly and give it a minute and it shows up. If you put too much on, the colors can bleed.
For the greeting, I stamped Happy Anniversary from Itty Bitty Greetings. I used the Classic Label punch. On the video I show how to use the punch to trim it smaller. I then put a 1"X2" piece of Pretty Peacock card stock behind it to make it stand out a little more.
This Stamp set along with High Tide are going to be the stamp sets for my next round of Stamps in The Mail. If you would like to make 12 cards using this 2 sets let me know and I can get you signed up for SITM 44!
Have you seen our Incredible Like You card kit? I LOVE it! I don't know why I waited so long to make it! All you need is the Incredible Like you Stamp Set, Lovely Lipstick and Costal Cabana Stamp pads or similar colors. This is what comes with it:
It took me 45 minutes to make the 16 cards. It comes with coordinating envelopes.
I took a close up of each card.
Here is a video I made showing all that comes in the kit and give a few tips:
I won Wonderful Romance in November while I was at Stampin Up's On Stage event. When I got it I thought, "nice to win it because I didn't think I would buy it." Now I just love it! I have made a few different cards, and wanted to do a more simple card.
The technique I am doing I have seen called Triple Time Stamping, or Triple Layer.
Triple Layer Card Measurements:
Whisper White
5 1/4 X 4
4 1/4 X 3
3 1/4 X 2
Cut Old Olive
5 1/2 X 8 1/2
4 1/2 X 3 ¼
3 1/2 X 2 1/4
I stack the Whisper White pieces to stamp. (If you are worried about them moving, you can use a tiny bit of adhesive.) I stamped the greeting first and then the leaf in the center. I then added more leaves by first stamping off on a piece of scrap paper to make it lighter. (Don't worry when you are stamping if you see a little space with no ink between the layers. The Old Olive Card stock will be there so you will not see it.) I then took each layer off and added the Old Olive Card stock behind each piece. Wrap the Old Olive ribbon around the middle pieces and tie in a knot. Adhere pieces together.
I made a video showing how easy this is to make. You could use this card layout with many of your stamp sets.
I have really liked working with the Garden Impressions Suite. The Abstract Impressions stamp set, Springtime Impressions Thinlit dies and Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper Stack give you so many options. I wanted to design a card that used the Thinlit traditional way- to cut out, and then also to emboss with the embossing mat. This is what I came up with.
I folded the card in 1/2, and then folded the front flap back. I opened up the card and then use the butterfly thinlit and embossing mat to emboss the butterfly on the inside of the card.
I made a quick video to show how easy this is to do. The embossing mat is just $15 and it gives you many more options for embossing.
The Designer Series Paper Stack gives you so many great colors to work with. I have been using our new color Shaded Spruce quite a big. It is a great green! A tip for assembling: When attaching the Melon Mambo butterfly, I just put adhesive on the left side so I didn't tape the card shot. Don't forget to add 3 rhinestone jewels to the butterfly. It adds a little bling to the card.
When I saw the Love You To Pieces Stamp set and Puzzle Dies, I knew I wanted to get them right away. We love puzzles at our house. We often have one going on our table. For the card I designed, I used our new embossing mats. They allow you to use your thinlits to emboss images using the Big Shot. I own so many thinlits, so this gives me so many mote options!
For the card, I used the thinlit the traditional way to cut out the puzzle pieces using smoky slate card stock. I then got out my thicker silicone embossing mat and used the same puzzle to emboss on the Basic Gray card stock. The then adhered a few of the smoky slate pieces to the embossed puzzle.
I made a video to show how the embossing mats work. They are $15 and you get a base place and a thin and thicker silicone mat. The thicker mat gives a deeper impression. For very detailed thinlits, I like to use the thinner silicone mat.
Think of the fun cards you can make for kids where you put a message on the puzzle that they have to put together.
We just celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday. Here she is with our kids. Isn't she cute!
I decided to get out my Brusho Crystal Colour to make her birthday card. I thought it would be nice to make a background for the large flower that I cut out using the Rose Garden thinlits.
This is the card I made:
I cut out the flower image first using shimmer white paper and saved the piece of the outline of the flower.
I put the outline of the flower down and used it as a stencil to get the area inside of it wet.
Some Tips:
-When using Brusho Crystal Colour you should use watercolor paper since you get it so wet.
-I use a paper piercer to make 3 holes in the top of the Brusho container. I then shake it out. The powder is super fine and if you open the lid it can fly all over.
-You can start by creating a single color background.
-If you don't like how it looks, spray a little water and it will change a little.
-Use your aqua painter if you want to move the color into an area without any color.
Brusho Crystal Colour will last you a long long time! You barely use any on a single card.
I made a video showing how to make this card.
Give it a try! These are the products I used to make this card.
